2024 Intention: Building an Ecosystem

REFLECTING ON 2023

So much happened in the past year(s), and to be honest, it has taken us some time to digest it all. It felt like a slow transition into the new year with many learnings and experiences to integrate.

Certainly, one of the highlights was our brafe.space Camp. It is the time each year where our entire community gets the opportunity to meet and intermingle, and for newcomers to our space to experience for the first time what it means to be a part of this process. It is the last event before we take time to regroup; taking time off from our Circles to train our core competencies and to meet in smaller emerging groups to digest our experiences and deepen new connections.

And so as momentum for the new year picks up and we begin to address more explicitly the strategy we see emerging for the coming years, we wanted to be explicit about how our experiences inform that strategy.

With the theme of “Reciprocity: a bold exploration of how we give and receive” we met together, roles aside, to explore how it feels to give and receive from one another on various levels. And we learned that it is challenging! Especially in the vulnerability of the things that make us human.

The video of our brafe.space Camp 2023 reflects on these experiences, as we invite you to join us on a walk down memory lane:

OUR INTENTIONS & PROJECTIONS FOR 2024

At the end of the day, giving and receiving is at the core of economic exchange and the act of funding or fundraising an organization. It is an essential capacity and part of what we aim to do here at brafe.space with the funding vehicle, and essential part of what is needed for brafe.space to be sustainable long term.

And so this begs the leading question for us: in a space where we wish for our full humanity to be an integrated baseline for socio-economic exchange, how do we move past this discomfort?

And this is our intention for the coming year:

to better integrate the experience we have in the inner development track and community gatherings with the funding platform and our roles as founders and funders in this space

We are so grateful to all of the change-making entrepreneurs who we have in our community and its vicinity who have decided to engage in this exploration and integration with us, in the hopes that coming September, we will have many experiences and learnings to reflect on and share with one another.
